I had an idea to try long exposures of planes flying overhead at night. But when I got my tripod set up there were no planes coming in. So I turned to the city instead and took this shot of the Brisbane city lights at night.

Only a few days after I received my new Nikon D7100, and only a few hours after I picked up a tripod to go with it, one of Brisbane’s famous summer storms rolled in and put on a show for us. These are my first attempts at lightning photography. Full size images on Flickr.
