I've been using the Hipstamatic app on my iPhone 5S for street photography lately. Aside from the fun of playing with the combinations of different lenses and films that the app provides, an iPhone is also a nice subtle camera to use in street photography situations without attracting a lot of attention.
Here are my current top 5 lens/film combos that I have been using.
Akira Lens with AO BW Film
The Akira lens was released with the Kyoto Hipstapak and is designed to intensify color, but I find it to also be a nice sharp lens to combine with black and white films. It tends to add a green tinge to one side of the frame at random, which has spoiled some color shots for me but works out well in black and white. The AO BW film provides a white frame and some random contamination to bring variety to shots.
Akira Lens with BlacKeys Extra Fine Film
Another Akira lens combo I enjoy using is BlacKeys Extra Fine film, which complements the sharpness of the lens and provides a clean, frameless edge to shots.
Florence Lens with BlacKeys Extra Fine Film
The clean edges of the BlacKeys Extra Fine film also work well with the Florence lens. When used with black and white films the desaturated tones and blown out highlights of the Florence lens really work well.
John S Lens with Pistil Film
Street photography doesn't need to be black and white all the time. Sometimes color works well too. The John S lens provides a vignette that blends well with the glare effect and thick frame of the Pistil film.
Libatique 73 Lens with BlacKeys SuperGrain Film
For a more retro, gritty look the grainy the Libatique 73 lens combines with the high contrast BlacKeys SuperGrain film to add interesting atmosphere and character to street shots.
